Viviana Castellanos -Lighting

This picture was taken when I went on a hike with my friends who came to visit me from San Diego. I have been going through a rough time and they told me that hiking would help clear my head. I am not that much of an athletic person so the journey up to this point was not the easiest. It took us about an hour to get up here and despite being tired I felt so accomplished especially when I saw how beautiful it looked. The picture was actually taken with my phone. I reached my hand over the fence and just started taking pictures without seeing how it looked. My two favorite parts about the picture is the way the sunlight is getting filtered through the clouds. It was a cloudy day but the way the sun is coming through is peaceful and maybe even angelic. Also you can see downtown Los Angeles in the far back which just looks really cool. For me the picture reminds me that sometimes we get so busy and caught up in what is going on in our personal lives that we forget to appreciate where we are. The hike and the picture made me want to continue to capture these beautiful moments.
